Kick out. You’re not even going to notice it’s there. Sliders have a purpose and function well. Why not make the most of it?

 

If you want protection from door dings side steps works fine

 

While true, I'm a fan of them receiving damage to their door in return for trying to be a dick. Flinging a door open into some thick DOM tubing should give them a nice dent and perhaps think twice next time. Maybe that's just me though

Don’t they make all steel side steps for your 2nd gen? It would be a lot cheaper, still do the same as you intended, and you can remove them.

I can remove my BAMF bolt on sliders if I want and they are every bit as strong as weld-ons.

 

I got a hell of a deal on actual sliders that have held up great to the abuse off road. Regardless of the side steps material, sliders are designed to take the abuse of landing the rig onto rocks, downed trees etc.

Also, side steps bolt to the cab causing MORE damage than sliders that weld or bolt to the frame.

 

Kick out looks better in my opinion. Who doesn't like curves?
