Sliding rear window....what's the point?

Well all of the above for air circulation, and in my case because I have a shell too, I bought, for example, two 10' masts for my radio communications antennas at home. I was able to carry them totally within the truck which meant that I could do other stuff that day with those in there without worrying because my truck was open. Plus, if you have a dog and it's cold out, you can slip a chute into that slider and run heat back to doggy

Wouldn't own a pick up without one. Use it all the time when hauling long pieces of lumber (shoe molding, crown molding, etc.)

 

I'd still rather perform the "full gas tank mod" on my rig about eight or 9 times for that kinda coin.

This issue anyway.

 

Didn't say it was a horrible price, my return could buy a few as well, not my point. My point being those frog skins could be put to other use on an access cab.

It's a little loud but it works great!!

 

Its a toyota truck tradition. My brothers '87 toyota had one. wouldn't be a toyota without it.

 

I liked it alot better when I had a single cab and could reach it, a little tough in the double cab. My dog and son love it. If you are tailgating or something of that sort and don't have one of those nifty bed power boxes, you can run your wires through that to the lighter. I'm stretching here, I don't know the actual use, but I know if I didn't have one, everything I did I would be saying, "damn, I wish this back window would open!"

 

No need to spend $$$ on the entire rear window. Install an actuator yourself:

The sliding window is pretty handy, IMO much more useful than a sunroof for ventilation.

 

To be honest, no sliding rear window would be a deal breaker for me. Most lumber comes in 16 foot lengths.. It sits nicely on the dash, all of the way from the tailgate with the slider open.

 

Hell yeah! Oh and yeah the turbulance thing too.

 

The sliding rear window is awesome in a regular cab. Creates a perfect amount of airflow for colder days, and cuts down on wind buffeting from the two door windows if you have those open too.

I hav dark tint, so at night it gets dark when u back up, just reach over slide it open, and wha-la!! Clear as day

Damn I didn't think of that... I have a camper that I put on for the winter months... Hopefully I'll scrap up enough money to get a roll up cover once I stop spending it on other stuff
