No, same rear window. The 3rd gen has a lot of 2nd gen hiding in there.

The security bar keep someone from popping the sliding window lock open and quietly accessing your vehicle.

Ok..but if I own it and remove it as you say by pushing down on the end..why can't the thief do the same after the window is broken?? Tell me what I'm missing..

If the windows broken you don't need to remove it, the thief is already in your truck

Breaking the window makes noise, Jimmy the lock and getting the window open is quiet.

In light of recent 'reviews' of certain TW sales in another thread I thought I should post a customer review of my window lock bar ordering experience with mattgecko.
Wanting to secure my back slider, and liking the look of his solution offered here in this thread, I pm'd Matt and got instructions to Paypal him the funds, which I did immediately. He responded within minutes that payment was received and the bar would mail out that day. It did, and the USPS managed to bring me the bubble envelope with the unscathed bar still safely inside it in a few days. As shown/advertised, it slips into the window track just snug enough to stay put, but easily rises out by pushing on one end. The quality and finish and smoothness are impeccable: It looks better than most of Toyota's original parts.
Matt, hugs to you, bro. And not just 'cause it turns out we share a last name. :) Call this transaction 5/5 or 10/10 or whatever, you're batting a thousand in my book, $21 well spent. A big thank you!!!

Same boat Tgordo! Matt was great to work with and he was easy to communicate with. The first box got lost, but he gladly reshipped it once it was noticed. He sent the second box and it arrived within a few days. After a week or so USPS found the other box and I was more than happy to send it back to him (who needs two bars anyways :D )

I ordered two of these, one for me and another for a colleague. They absolutely love it. I, however am still waiting for my truck to arrive, so I'll enjoy this for it's intended purpose then but for now I've enjoyed it to annoy other works around the shop by prodding them.

    A+
