Sliding window security bar

Yes I have bars in stock.

 

The bar won't sit flush due to weather stripping, so it sits up out of the channel the closer it gets to the sliding window. Anyone else run into this?

 

I get my truck tomorrow and already have my bar, so once I have placed the two together I will provide an update from my side of things.

 

I'll post a pic when I get a chance. I think it should still work OK, just comes out easier than I'd like since it doesn't completely rest in the channel. Maybe I could cut out the excess weather stripping if I can get down in there somehow.

 

I have only had an issue with a 2005 Tacoma. Do please email me a pic, want to solve this.

Now that I've snapped a pic I can see exactly what's going on. Appears the weather stripping isn't flush and is blocking the channel. Not your fault, just appears to be a minor deficiency that would otherwise go unnoticed until I tried to drop this bar in there.

 

Is your truck under warranty? If so, Toyota should properly install the seal for you.

 

Yeah, it's only 5 months old. I'll have them take a look next time I take it in for service.

 

If for some reason they do not get it fixed and the bar isn't usable, please PM me.

 

Truck is now with me, and my window bar has been inserted. It went in very easily, I tried to pull it back out but it seems to really like to stay down in there. It was dark and began to snow here, so I didn't spend much time with it, tomorrow I'll see how easy this is to fish back out. Love the simplicity of it however.

 

Just push down on one end of the bar, the other end will pop out of the window track.

 

Need one of these in my life. OP any other payment tenders accepted aside from pp?

My fix was to wrap some masking tape around the bar and leave a small piece protruding to grab. Works fine for me 3 years later.

 

Yar I thought about tape. Didn't get to get to it today but I think a lil lip added will be what I use.

 

I only wrapped it once and attached the 2 ends about an inch above the bar, works perfect.
