Has anyone noticed a perceived engine misfire around 53 mph? My truck does it almost everyday on the same slight uphill 1/2 mile grade after work. Just a short slight miss. Truck seems to have no other engine issues.

Just curious if this is the Adkinson cycle possibly or if anyone else has noticed it on their truck.

I've noticed similar on an uphill in a school zone going 25mph every morning on the way to work. I'll have to pay attention to the RPMs next week. I never notice it under any other conditions. I kinda chalked it up to the Adkinson Cycle as well. But I was just thinking the other day I need to make sure and pay attention after i get the transmission TSB done to see if it makes a difference.

I perceive it as the motor "lugging down" when it shifts in to the higher gear at a low speed. Not as bad post TSB but still does it sometimes.

I get it too, but at around 43-45 mph in 6th gear. If I push the gas and it shifts to 5th it goes away. My truck has always done it, but I think that's just they way it is.

Mine does it going 46 MPH in 6th gear, under very light throttle. Feels like bump-bump-bump...like a fish investigating the bait. I can now repeat it and keep it going for quite a while...no code thrown. It almost feels like it is lugging, and not enough throttle position to kick down a gear.

Definitely not the AC. Especially since it is not on.

I'm getting this right at 40mph. First guess was a coil (?), but there's no check engine light coming on no matter how long I drag out the ordeal..
    What's this Adkinson Cycle?
I also tried a/c on vs off - no difference.
It should be noted that this is my first Tacoma, and my first V6.
It's like my balls just dropped, and it feels f'n fantastic.

I've not noticed this issue in a long time, never really figured it out and may have just gotten used to it. I did get the transmission TSB shortly after my initial post so that might have been what cleared it up.
