OK..My Taco is an 07, dbl cab. 75k miles. Heres the funky:
After driving around, at hwy. speeds...come up to red light, and right after all forward motion stops..truck will sit there, like normal, THEN after 1-5 seconds, it feels as if someone lightly taps the ass end of vehicle..? A small forward surge/jolt.
I've noticed it hardly ever does it when AC compressor is off...almost always does it when AC is on....I know its setup to slightly increase throttle to compensate for compressor running, thus slightly more torque being contained while sitting still....
The dealer has looked @ it twice (still under cert. pwr. train warr.)...and they are complete retards. I've explained all this to them in great detail, so they can get on the same page...they have'nt a clue!
Could it be a yoke that holds suspended drive shaft, lacking lube? the driveshaft itself? am I dreaming? Wuzzup??!!

Am I the only one with this gremlin?

ALSO: this is my first Toyota, built in Fremont,CA. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY TRUCK...BUT I must say I have been kinda let down with the overall quality...of little things...plastic interior trim pieces falling off...drivers dead pedal fell off...the two storage "cavities" in the bed (over the wheel well) just fell out of the hole one day...plastic inserts next to trailer hitch ball on bumper keep popping out. CD changer has locked up 3 Xs now. Radio kept working, but the CD part QUIT working all of a sudden...
I'm not bitchin', but I'm kinda torqued that this kinda crap keeps happening...I didn't buy a dodge, I bought a Tacoma!

I'm getting on avg. 15 MPG combined city/hwy. That normal for ya'll?

    Enlighten me please!! :)

There are many threads on here that explain the driveshaft yoke is probably binding up and needs to be lubed. It is a quite normal thing for most of us. As for the rest of the problems I would say the previous owner probably treated the truck like crap and caused all the problems you are haveing. I don't know of anyone with these type of problems. The storage spots in the bed would not "fall out unless someone was taking them in or out a few times and weakened the plastic or something. And I get 20 to 22 mpg depending on winter or summer blend gas.

Yup it's your transmission just shifting into 1st.
I just put a bead of silicone around the rear holders and stays in well.
For the CD player, try a search in the 2nd gen forum. A ton of little things that are weird have been already addressed for the 05+ models. Welcome to TW.
