I finally got my BFGR KO2’s Installed on my 2020 TRD Pro wheels. This is on my stock third gen. They look killer with the 285/75/16. Too dark for pics tho!

BUTTTT. They clear the UCA and front of the fender well without issue on full turns, but the do indeed rub OHHHH so slightly on the rear fender well where the mud flap is mounted when I turn hard.

I know removing the mud flaps is a solution, but I’d like to keep
Them. What are my options? I need a VERY small amount of room.
    TIA!

:sawzall: Mark them, cut the flaps where the tires rub and reinstall them. Bada Bing Bada Boom

I don’t exactly know what you mean, sorry I’m being dumb. It’s not the actual flap that hangs down that’s rubbing, its the part up in the wheel well. Sorry if that’s obvious lol

No worries, I was just referring to the part that sticks out 1/2" or so just below the mounting screws. Is that where it's rubbing?

Exactttttly. Thanks for being literal with me. One thought I had driving home was to maybe heat it with my heat gun and pound it flatter? But again I’m clueless on how much space is behind that area. So super appreciate your help

There isn't much room if it's anything like the 2nd gens, but you could try that before cutting them, and if it doesn't work you can still cut afterwards. With 305s I had to remove the flaps, as well as cut the flares and part of the actual metal quarter panel lol.

Replace the OEM mud flaps with slimmer aftermarket flaps.

The 285s aren't as bad as 305s, they're about an inch skinnier. I also have wheels that push my tires out about an inch past the body of the truck.

Have your caster set 1 degree more positive and recheck may need 2 extra degrees positive. If you can get that with the factory uca.

Couple pics of the small area I’m rubbing. Surprised again this is happening given everything I read about this size. Maybe I’ll start with heat and a mallet to see if I can push that plastic in a tad

Wait till you go off road, that tire will rub as soon as you compress the suspension.

My point was there is no way your gonna run nearly a 33” tire with zero lift and not rub. You gonna need to lift it some if you don’t want to rub or go to a smaller tire or like some guys run skinny tires.

Zero issues with rub so far. I'm not an insane offroader by any means, but I've taken the truck over a few rough, rock-laiden inclines without issue.

His problem isn’t going straight it’s turning. Without any lift if the wheel is turned and the suspension compresses it’s gonna rub on or off road.
