A one piece driveshaft is less expensive than a two piece.

Yeah but having an actual bed is worth it.

Back from the dead… was there any fix to this? I have the same noise, even with new carrier bearing

I had to do my carrier twice. I cheaped out at first and the place I took it to did a terrible job and the carrier was binding immediately. Did you do it yourself?

Yeah I did it myself. I got a cheap-ish one from Autozone. The noise didn’t change at all with the new bearing, so I think maybe it’s something else.

Can you have someone else drive and stick your head out or have them drive by so you can pin point the noise. It's not the brakes is it? Lightly press the brakes and see if it goes away

It was from Autozone. Don’t remember the specific name. I relocated to northern CA unfortunately

My 2000 TACO PRERUNNER is making this same loud chirping noise just like the YouTube video on this page. I have 112,000 miles on it now for reference. I notice that it really acts up after I have been on the highway for awhile. Has anyone figured out the problem/solution yet? advice is much appreciated.

With mine I believe it’s the throw out bearing, but since you have an auto maybe it’s a different issue.

In case anyone has this issue down the road, it ended up being that the drive shaft needed to be lubed.. Also the idler pulley was making some noise.
