I noticed a slight stickiness in my gas pedal in traffic today. It was a hot day, so not sure if that had anything to do with it. Got under the dash and lubed up the contact points but I'm still noticing it, especially when I let off the gas pedal slowly. Any recommendations?

What did you lube it with? I certainly wouldn't use any oil based lubricant on it

What do you mean by "stickiness"? Did the pedal feel like it was mechanically rough, or was the truck just not doing what you expected it to?
The throttle is completely electronic, drive by wire.

White lithium grease. Truck is responding normally. The pedal just doesn't release smoothly.

Ok, I'd be careful where you spray though - with the electronics in the pedal and all.

The dealer should be able to fix you up, that's what I'd do if it continued. Could be a safety risk.

What do ya know the dealer couldn't replicate it. I'm looking forward to showing them with my freaking hand in their garage how it doesn't release smoothly.

Here the update just in case anyone else has this problem in the future:

I went in and asked to sit in a new Tacoma. Gas pedal was clearly smoother. Had the service guy replicate what I felt on the new truck vs. my truck. He then was able to see my issue. The master tech had to call the field rep to get the OK to replace my gas pedal. The field rep asked the master tech to test another tacoma w/ similar miles on it. Thankfully, there are a number of 3rd gen Tacomas on the used car lot with 20,000 miles. Anyway, they're ordering me a new gas pedal. #persistence
