So I've had my 2018 Trd sport for almost 5,000 miles now and everything has been great spare a few things. Since the second week of owning the truck, I experienced vibrations at cruising speeds around 40 mph in like 4 or 5th gear as well as shuddering and vibes as I would break to a complete stop. Naturally I took my tacoma into the dealership and the technician said he felt the break vibes and basically replaced the back left and right break system axles etc.

Cut to 3-4 weeks later and the break vibrations are back, just not as noticeable as well as the shuddering and vibrations at 40mph.

Have any of you had this issue with your tacomas? I really do not know what to do other than go back to the dealership and raise cain. I feel like a truck that is at like 4,900 miles shouldn't drive this harsh. I realize tacomas have more of a truck "feel" than other midsize trucks and the trd sport is a little more stiff than the other models, but I feel like these kind of vibes are a little ridiculous.

I really want to get this figured out before putting AT tires and new wheels on my truck.

Any suggestions? Any kind of help would be nice.

I know very little about the ATs, but this has been discussed in the OVT development:

    "SHOULD I UPDATE TO 1.05.1?

This update is only necessary if your truck experiencing characteristic "stumbling" or stuttering, "Bumpy road feeling" during low RPM (1200-2000 RPM) at low throttle and low to moderate speed (15mph - 50 mph)"

See the details about Version 1.05.1 here:

Thanks for the insight, shame that the tune software is 700$ or I'd realistically consider it.

It was recently discounted to that price and used to be more. Watch out for a sale. I think he does them twice a year? It was 12% off back in February.

It is a lot to spend on software, but there are a ton of benefits and improvements on both AT and MT Tacos. It took me a year to convince myself.
