Has anyone used bed liner paint on just the floor of the bed to keep things from sliding around back there?
I'm wondering how well the paint will stick to it.I thought of trying the paint before spending $80-$100 on a bed mat.

Try a horse stall mat from Tractor Supply for about $30 - trim to fit.

Bedliner does not like to adhere to the epoxy bed, most Rhino and Linex shops will not touch a Tacoma bed because of this. I saw samples at my local lines shop where they tried various primers and adhesion promoters etc and it just does not stick well. The OE bed mat is really your best bet.

I did used stall mat material and cut my own. Doesn't fit a nice as the OEM but I like that its thicker. Helps to smooth out the ridges.

Thanks all for the replies. It looks like some sort of bed mat will be the answer.

Just buy the OEM mat and save yourself all the headache.

People have bedlined the composite bed and it seems like it holds up fine, but unlike Bedliner a bed mat doesn't just "rub off" over time and usage. OEM mat is tougher than T-Rex hide.

Dee Zee bed mat unless you can find an oem one for much cheaper. I've had both and they both fit the same and get the job done. You have an access cab like me so you're good to go. Short bed guys who buy the Dee Zee mat will get the long bed mat, but there's a line on the mat where you have to trim it to fit. It's a straight line so not hard at all. Get it from jet.com and use their 15% off coupon. Comes out to a little over $60 shipped.

Bed rug, ARE bed top, Weathertechs. Little goodies here and there!
If you have a bed cover. Consider bed rug too. I know some have it without a cover and they are washable. Can be a pita keeping clean pending your type of use.

Me, it's my huge traveling trunk, and the occasional bulkier items.

    Get what fits your needs.

    Same as everybody else...
I see bed mats on Craig's list often enough for cheap, usually around 70 bucks. I got mine for 90 bucks delivered from Summit Racing
