That is a pretty interesting setup. He made it himself and it is just one end slid right over top of the other. You just grease the shit out of it before you take it out. I imagine it is pretty noisy as it slides up and down. If they don't overlap enough you can actually pull them apart when drooping the rear.

Yup! Not diggin the shackle angle or pinion angle.. but that drive shaft is vereh nice! :D I would most definately build one like that if I went with a SFA and manual hubs. Those things smash rocks!
Wat? Where'd it snap? And by any chance, do you happen to know what type of steel/wall thickness he used?

Was the part that came off still relatively straight and such? It looks to me like the u-joint came apart which would cause the 2 ends of the drive shaft to just slide apart.

    neglect, mostly.
    ^^^

though i troll this thread often, i don't think ive subbed to it till now. i do see silas' reasons for selling it however. an addiction to a material possession is rarely a good thing, not to mention one that's a money pit.

... but dang, i love this truck

Alomost finished up with the bumper..... It's welded on the frame, I just have to get a few more of the support pieces on there and then the tail-light/bed-side guards welded on. And then painted of course! Of to Lowes for more fluxcore right now........

Will hopefully be done by tonight, so here's a crappy teaser pic until then
