Operation Uber Leaf Spring Flex is under way...

    Plan:
    1/4" plate boxed rear frame
2" x .125" box tube crossmember 1.5" aft of axle
    Re-built 63" Chevies (2 leaves each)
    3/8", 6" eye-to-eye
1/4" plate front hangers 7.75" foward. Frenched into frame?
1.5" x .125" cradles with Ballistic 2.63" creeper joints for shackle hangers
Custom u-bolt flip with 3/8" plate
re-locate e-brake cable to follow spring (to allow full droop)
Triangulate 14" 2.0 Fox Pro Series Shox

    So far....

Took apart the chevies I got from the junk yard about 10 months ago....

attaked them with a wire wheel
    [IMG]

self-etching primer and some black gloss
    [IMG]

burned out the old, cracked bushings
    [IMG]

removed my old suspension and ground off extra crap...

I also welded on a bigger exhaust tip, since it was accessable. :D

See, that's my main worry... I'm hangin on to the third leafs just in case I need to stick them back in. An anti-wrap bar would be ideal...

I've seen people run 2 leaves in the 63" chevies before... Not sure if they had that problem though. :notsure: I just think it might work ok for me since I'm so light in the rear.

I have 3 leaves plus an overload. Springs alone aren't stiff it was my shocks that are valved kinda stiff. But works with the stuff I put in the bed of my truck.

 I've been working on it all day! Hopefully done by tomorrow night after work, then testing on Wednesday.
Sweet. Any specific reason you decided to keep the overload on?
