Welp, went to Moab and my locked front & rear PreRunner did alright!!! :D

    Carnage list:
2 snapped NAPA CV axles (I had 2 junkyard OEM spares and they held up great once I swapped them in!)
Tore up both needle bearings in my hubs form the broken CVs
1 inner spindle seal from a broken CV (had a spare though lol:D)
1 battery terminal (bailing wire and electrical tape worked just fine to get off the trail)
a couple dents where my rear bumper is supposed to be :anonymous:
and of course the skids, sliders and front bumper scratched, gouged, and abused all around! :woot:

    Trails I got to run:
Hells Revenge (Didn't try any obstacles due to having just broken both CVs... ran out of spares)
7 Mile Rim (Wipout Hill is pretty fun, but not too tough...)
Fins and Things at night (Fun trail! I've never climbed anything so steep!)
Cliffhanger (My favorite trail of the trip!)
Greenday (Also very fun with the optional stuff!)
a couple obstacles in Area BFE...

    Pics coming soon

    Thanks, man!

Yeah.... they're pieces of crap. lol But I got them for free out of the "trash pile" at work (discount tire) and they were 35s which is what i was looking for so i said what the heck. :D they definately took some abuse in moab.

actually, i almost pulled the trigger on some 37/1250r17 Kevlars today at work since our store down the street has 4 in stock and they probably won't get sold for months! but I want to do some more research first.... Hopefully soon. 36's wold be perfect, but all a can find for 17" rims and not insanely wide is bias ply.... with how much a drive my truck (my only vehicle) i think i need to get radials. but we'll see. i'd also like some 6 plys if possible, and those are also kinda hard to find in that size.....

Don't get 37's. The cv's can't handle it especially with a locker. Ask GOT COPE? Trust me on this and stay with 35s.

Look into cooper STT's they make a great tire for DD and offroad performance

Hmmmmm..... (That's what I meant by more research lol) I actually sent GOT COPE? a PM this morning asking about the same thing--general strength of the front end with 37s on IFS. I've heard that he kept desroying his carrier or something? but i couldn't find any threads on it..... or info in his build thread. :\ Do you know the specific situations that he's broken stuff? I thought the CVs would be the first to go like you said... but i guess he's destroed his diff???

And thanks for the advice on the STTs, I haven't heard of them and they look like a great tire!

GOT COPE? Has broken at least 3 front diffs (possibly just spider gears). 37's are bad :(

I read some info he put up and he says "In short, get a steering cooler, trim fenders as needed, tub firewall, 1" body lift, wheel it to become familar with the limits of ifs on 37s. And tires will still rub the firewall on occasion, youll learn to wheel around that. In other words try not to let that happen, binding isnt good and you could possibly shave some tread off the tires.

I run a 1.5" spacer w/ 4.5"bs wheels and the tires do rub the frame, but thats not a bad thing, just another thing youll get used to."
