There are some vehicles made for the pleasure of going fast and then there's other vehicles made for the pleasure of other things, like off-roading.

Is it just me or shouldn't our trucks get 100mpg and do 0-60 in 3.4 seconds? I mean it's 2019!

I chirped a tire once going around a corner. What a wild day that was.

Crossing tacoma generation lines here, don't punch me in the crotch...

When I test drove my 96 I was on the highway like "ehhhh". But when I put it in 4 low in the dirt behind the place, I knew I had to have it. Are there better vehicles on the highway? Tons! Better ones off road? Sure! Liked it enough to buy it, as did you.

    Best vehicle I have owned.

I understand that it really does have more hp. Off the line second gen is fastest of all 3. Fastest to 100..... no clue and I won’t be the one trying to prove anyone right or wrong there :)

I had a jk, slow as shit. Now a Tacoma, slow. Who gives a heck. This is my 5th new truck I’ve owned and is all around nicer than any of the others.

I don’t get it either. It’s not just about speed, it’s about everything. For some reason they sell like contraband candy at fat camp, even though people keep bitching like Jewish housewives about them. Must be something there? :boink:

Interesting video, I would’ve bet money that the tundra would’ve destroyed it with the V8.

3rd gens aren’t necessary slow, they like to rev high and the transmissions 3-4 gearing is wonky.

I just went from a 2015 Tundra 5.7 Crew Max to a Taco 3.5 DCOR. My Tundra would pass like an F1 car and always pulled when the throttle was pressed. My Taco is chill to even lazy feeling but when kicked in the ass she’ll get out on the dance floor and boogie. 15.8mpg to feel power without having to mash the pedal to 21-22mpg in my Taco... I can deal with the perceived lack of power for the gained mpg. My ECT button is always off too. That little sucker costs me mpgs.

You know, I rode a Ninja 250 for a while. Taught me how to "plan ahead" when I needed to pass. Still use those lessons to this day. But now I have steel bumpers when I miscalculate
But too, I came from a lifted 4.7l tundra to my 4.0 Taco and I've got about the same amount of giddy-up, with 2 mpgs better. So it's all good.

Mine has a shit ton of torque in first gear. Can spin the tires all the way into second if I really wanted to.
