This is why I keep my expectations low. And I'm not just talking about the speed of my truck.

Fleet sales is what Ford is all about. Ford could stay in business by selling Super Duties and Interceptors alone.

This x 1000. I don't understand it either. I knew when I bought my '19 it wasn't going to have no where near the power or performance that my 05 STi has. I bought my 19' for the utility of it and off road capability. People expect 0-60 times in 3-4 seconds in a truck, let alone in a mid-size like the tacoma. SMH

50?! Useless. My Ducati hits 50 before the clutch is fully engaged.
    I get 0-60 in 1.73, 1.83, and 1.85s at the track, but that's a Ducati.

I don't have a Saturn V booster w/ lawnchair, but it will beat my Ducati, prolly.

I haven't timed my pickup truck, cuz that would be a bit ... retarded.

its a midsixed truck making 278hp, and 275 ftlb at a higher rev range than the 4.0.. its faster than previous generations, but also heavier due to added "conveniences", and safety systems... this is a dumb conversation.. get the OV tune, and maybe the OVtune supercharger, do a v8 swap...... otherwise.. sell your truck

Yeah, it ain't the fastest truck out there on the street. But I'll typically blow by (not literally....outdoors / off road etiquette all) the faster trucks when I'm in the dirt moving from point A to point B and those guys driving the "fast trucks" that will smoke me on the street are pulling over to let me by because they're babying the shit out of their trucks and crawling along because if they don't they know they'll fall and rattle apart.

But that's what I bought the truck for...not for dick measuring street races or 0-60 time brags. It gets out of its own way, accelerates to highway speed, etc., just fine for what I need. Then when the wheels hit the dirt it smokes just about every other thing out there as far as dependability, toughness, staying in one piece, and getting me back out and home without wrenching or towing after getting hammered and off roaded hard for weeks at a time is concerned.

If this 3rd gen follows in the footsteps of my Gen1 and '84, I expect nothing less. Fingers crossed it will.

If those "faster trucks" follow suit with each and every other domestic vehicle I've ever owned...they'd better be babying those POS's when the tires hit the dirt.
