Just to update, I have purchased a radio from a gentleman who decided to go aftermarket on his 2016 SR5. The radio looks the same as the one from SR Trim except, it is capable of Sirius subscription, plays HD radio, shows fuel consumption, range, average mpg's and displays artwork when playing music. In addition it allowed me to program the remote opener so both doors open with one click. The weather and traffic function do not work and I am pretty sure that I will need to change the antenna for the Sirius to work. I am also able to customize startup and shut down screen images among few other additional features. I will be calling Entune support number to see if I can sign up for the Entune app. ( this requires the vin # of the car that comes with Entune capable radio). The Install was plug and play and took 10 minutes. Overall it is my favorite upgrade by far that I have done to my basic trim truck. ( so far I have installed: vinyl stickers for glove compartment door and tailgate, fog lights, SR5 rims, window tint, LEDs for map lights, dome light and reverse tail lights, intermediate windshield wiper switch and inspired by you, Carhartt seat covers that fit super well and match the interior color perfectly). I highly recommend this simple upgrade/swap.

That's awesome man, thanks for sharing that! Just curious how much did you pay for the SR5 radio? Cause in the future I was thinking about just upgrading to either a Kenwood or alpine Navi unit from anywhere between $600-$1000.

Hey @MTgirl or @sean266 I just realized I created my build thread in the 3rd gen forums instead of the 3rd Gen Build thread! Any chance one of you could move it over to the 3rd Gen build section for me?

A few weeks ago I bought the set of brand new SR5 rims with tires and sensors for $600(Craigslist) We had a small chat about our trucks and the seller told me that he was planing on getting an aftermarket stereo. I asked him to keep my number in case he wanted to sell his oem unit. The text came four days ago and he asked for $80 for the radio:)))
I believe that he has installed a Pioneer stereo. It looked like a good fit and he has spent $300 for it. I am sure I can ask him for a model # if you are interested. Let me know.

If I could get a SR5 radio for $80 I'd buy one now before I upgrade to aftermarket lol

What are the main benefits to that Viper alarm system, and how do you like it? I'm unfamiliar. (if you don't want to explain feel free to just reply with a link, lol).

Well with the viper system, you can add a alarm to it and a remote start and also its good up to 1 mile range. You can also add a box to be able to use the app to start your car or lock or unlock it anywhere in the world from your smart phone.

Here is a link to what I got in my truck!

I read that a buddy installed your viper system at his shop. Did he give you a copy of the wiring diagram by chance? I would like to add keyless to my SR, and a diagram would be helpful.

I did not see the wiring for it, they get all their stuff from a website, I forgot the name of it.
