I've been having problems with my 2000 tacoma. It idles ok but when accelerating between 1200 and 2000 rpms and it starts stalling out. I can floor it and picks up and goes on. I've changed plugs and coil packs, fuEl filter, egr valve, tps, mafs, and changed a vsv. I'm completely puzzled by this. It shows an o2 sensor code but would that make it run like that? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm new here so take this reply with a grain of salt bc I could be wrong. But I recently purchased a 2001 Tacoma. My CEL was on when I bought it,(banks are lean) but it ran fine. But here lately, mine has also been sluggish but generally at lower rpm's to where it almost completely dies, and its getting HORRIBLE gas mileage. From everything I have read on these forums the past few days, my issues seem to be the front O2 sensor(which is really an air/fuel sensor)

But, from reading on here, they also recommend checking all of your rubber hoses and etc because a lot of times the hoses can crack and it will throw the same code.

Also a tip- if you end up narrowing it down to the front sensor, be sure and buy the DENSO brand. Go to Denso's website and find out which one you need, get the part number and go to RockAuto and order it. I screwed up and ordered the wrong sensor yesterday bc I assumed the one for the automatic would fit the 5 speed, and they are definitely different.

    Hope some of that helps.
