Selling my '69 Westy. It will be bittersweet, but I'm tired of all the maintenance. I have to say my built 1914 has better low end torque than the Truck, but the bus is all done at about 70MPH and in a wind, I'm all done at a much slower speed.

You would really notice it in my 2.7 - I came from a 2015 chebby Colorado V6 that would pin you to the back of the seat when you passed someone. I found out quick in the 2.7 not to pull out in front of someone and make darn sure no one was approaching within 3/4 mile before I pull out to pass.

1967 VW bus poptop is still the top three best vehicles I've owned. I had that thing built with a 1776cc motor, dual port, Porsche oil cooler. 20 gallon water tank, big icebox, storage, had a canopy that went over the entire passenger side. I miss that thing to this day.

Make sure you have the latest software on your truck. There are a few tsbs for the tranny. If you want them to fix it tell them you have delayed engagement in drive and weird shifting/shift flares between 2/3.

Those are the magic words to get the latest patch.

Also, look into the thread about ShiftSense. It's a pretty ingenious solution that has been getting rave reviews from people who use it.

It's designed to help with this exact issue.

After driving this truck for about a week now it seems to me that it tends to start out in a higher gear and tries to get to those higher gears sooner. It seriously feels like it starts out in 2nd gear. I've also read that the transmission is adaptive. It there any proof behind that? And lastly, is there a software update that would fix the issue?

It was a joke. You can however install some 4.88's and enjoy the feeling of the old 4.0. These trucks just don't make power until they get up in RPMs. Try driving with the ECT on or possibly install a 50 shot of Nitrous.

    Removed the air dam lol
The truck is a turd. I've had mine since September. I dislike it more and more every time I drive it. It's had all it's updates and ECT is stupid.
