    Hey everyone,

Recently purchased my new 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 within the last month and I do love it.

Unfortunately a small boo boo happened as I was backing in and a tree branch was in my blind spot hitting my tail light and leaving a star like spread of small cracks from where it hit. Luckily it was only the tail light that got hit. It does not have any opening to expose the interior of the tail light casing and no white light shows through that would get me pulled over.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for making sure these crack do not expand or get worse? or if anyone has a great way to fix it!

Plan to get it replaced by the dealer at some point but I would hate to get it replaced and it happen again.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Check with you auto supply store. Most of them will carry a repair kit for this problem.

Worst case scenario I'd probably just use some clear drying plastic epoxy.

Then eventually replace the tail light at some point down the road.

Exactly what I did. Mine got busted (they are extremely fragile btw) and I epoxied the crack. Worked like a charm and actually didn't look bad.

Appreciate the help. I will give the epoxy repair kit route a go.

Is there any real danger/harm to leaving it cracked?
I could only think of the possibility of moisture accumulation inside that could potentially cause the tail light not to function at all

If you put a bead of epoxy over the crack I doubt that any moisture will get in. Mine sealed up from the epoxy really well. I ran that way for a few weeks and it was solid.
