Hello everyone. Has anyone else experienced a little crease that almost looks like a dent in their tailgate? It's a 2013 and I take good care of it. I know I didn't cause this damage to it, it is possible someone bumped it with something but it is highly unlikely because the metal isn't terribly thin and there isn't a scratch or anything on or around it. It's only about an inch big. I don't think it came from the factory this way (bought it with 3km and plastic on it) It really pisses me off because when it's all clean the light reflects off of it and you can tell there's a dent there. Warranty? :(

    Not a warranty issue.
As soon as you drove off the lot, you lost any warranty for body or paint damage.

The metal actually is quite thin, someone probably bumped it with a shopping cart or something.

    Pics or it didn't happen.

I'm sure it will buff out.

Thanks Rich, I will take a pic when I get home. I need to wash it first or it's hard to see. That sucks. I was at the dealership and tried pushing a tailgate in hard with my thumb, it didn't do anything. What the hell could have bumped it at that height? Maybe it was from standing on the tailgate but I doubt it.

Thanks, that looks like the exact same problem. Too bad nobody knows why. :(

Have you taken the composite skin off the tailgate? There are supports that run from the interior sheet metal form of the tailgate to the interior of the outside skin that look like they are in the same spots as the dents in the OP of the linked thread. Not a solution, but maybe the cause.

No I haven't touched the skin, but thanks Boone. I've sat and stood on the tailgate (like a truck should be able to handle) and you get the occasional noise from the composite but I would hope it's not creasing the gate. Not cool.
