Hey all, long time lurker here and I finally decided to join. I am looking for some advice / guidance on a problem that I created this past weekend.

I was adding sound deadener to the rear cab of my Tacoma in preparation for a sub box I'm adding soon(box is currently being built by Mr. Marv). There were 2 brackets on the rear wall that were going to interfere with the sub box im having built. I removed the 2 brackets on the rear wall and now there are 4 small holes that I need to patch up.

What would ya'll recommend to patch these up? My buddy said to use RVT silicone or bondo, but I figured I'd get advice from more knowledgeable people.

I know I screwed up. I'm hoping this can be dealt with on my own and avoid going to a body shop.

I appreciate any pointers, thanks in advance.

Google small rubber hole plugs. You could put a little silicone on the indented ring on them and plug them up. If you can't find the right size you could drill them out to the right size. Many sizes available from very small to quite large so you have a lot of choice in size and style.

I don't see any holes through the cab in your pic. Am I missing something?

Sorry, hit reply too soon.. Another option depending on size of the holes is 3M seam sealer. Its the soft squishy rubber like stuff thats all over the underside of vehicles. Adheres well with proper prep and lasts a very long time

Thank you for all of the input so far. I didn't take a picture of the holes, I'm at work now, but will try and get a picture taken on my lunch.

Make sure you paint the holes first and inspect the part between the cab and bed externally if it opened to the outside daylight.

Second the hole plug. Those make oopsies look like they were done with purpose.

Sounds like you wrestled off the brackets and have 4 holes where the spot welds were. Can you reach them from under the truck so you can prime the metal? My concern would be long term potential for rust on the new bare metal you exposed. After any of the above ideas are solid.

That is exactly what I did. I dont think I can get between the rear cab and the bed.

Don't use silicone... use as mentioned a seal sealer or urethane/Vulcan sealent.
