    I have a 06 D-cab short box TRD Sport, and am curious about lifting my truck about 2" with the 5100's and an AAL. My truck is not eligable for the TSB, so I am thinking about the AAL to allow for a bit more weight in the back...not a lot, just two full size dirt bikes= 500-600 lbs. My truck doesn't bottom out now, but then again I don't really put a lot of weight in it...usually pull the dirt bikes on a trailer. My truck sits pretty level, with the back end maybe 0.5-0.75 inches higher than the front, but the truck has definitly settled over time. I don't think I want a full lift, and the problems associated with it...just like 2-2.5 inches higher than now. If I get an AAL from Toytec, should I get the 1.5, or the 2 inch, and then which setting should I have the 5100's set at? I will be getting the 5100's all the way around by the way. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

    Will it make the ride rough with the 5100's set at the 2.5 on stock springs? With the setting at 2.5, will it make my truck level, because if so, I'd rather have the back sit a tad higher like it is now so it doesn't sag with a load in it...

    Hmmm...I was hoping to have th back sit at least half an inch higher than the front...would the 1.75 setting work better to achieve this?

    I installed the 1.5 AAL from Toytec with no TSB and new rear 5100 Bilsteins and it was exactly 1.75" higher after. I installed the Bilsteins at 1.75 in front and it was exactly 1.75" higher.

    That's what I'm thinking. With the 2" AAL, and the 2.5 setting is it going to be hard to align, and will the ride be a lot rougher than stock? I've read through here, and a lot of threads say that the 5100's at 2.5 really compresses the stock coil, and make the ride rough...

    Your leafs may have not settled. Rear shocks don't provide lift.

    I have the DC short box TRDsport.

    I bottomed out pre-TSB with just one dirt bike back there - and it was a 2-stroke. Granted, I also had my ramps, tool box and riding gear but I was shocked the first time it slammed off the bumps. I have also bottomed out post-TSB with 2 dirt bikes (both 2-strokes) and riding gear.

    I have read that the 2.5 setting does make the ride a bit more stiff but it should also handle well. I never thought I would get used to the stiff suspension of my former 1st gen but I grew to like it. Those without the factory TRD suspension say it's a major improvement.

    I was going to go Billie 1.75 up front and a TSB AAL that adds 1.5 in the rear. I've decided to go full OME up front (should add 1.5-1.75") and Toytec 1.5" aal in rear for $600 shipped.

    $600 is pretty good, but I live in Canada, and I'm sure shipping/ duty would kill me. I want to keep the cost under $1000 Canadian for everything... I'd also like to replace the back shocks at the same time I do the fronts, and I'd like them to match, cuz I'm weird like that.

    How do the 5100's work in regards to the settings? Like is the 1.75 setting 1.75" of lift, and so on? Will the 5100's set at 1.75 be a smoother ride as it isn't pre loading the stock coil as much? Maybe the 5100's at 1.75, and a 1.5" AAL is the ticket...

    After reading on here a tonne, I wonder if the billy's at 1.75 with the stock coils will be too rough (wife drives the truck as well, and loves the way it rides) I was wondering if some new coils with the billy's at 0.85 or 0 would be better? I've also been looking at the OME 3" lift on the Toytec site, and I'm pondering that as well, but I'm worried about going too high, and having to get new UCA, and having problems with the CV's and the boots etc... All I really want is 2-2.5" of lift with a nice ride, and no headaches.

    Maybe get the 1.6" lift coils and set the billies to .85?

    back to bone stock.
    fab. my target was 2" of lift. i put on 1.5" aal for the rear. in the fronts i used the OME setup. i opted for 884 coils, the 90000 shocks, and NO spacer. i measured a stock truck a few days ago, and i got 2.25" in the front, and a true 1.5" in the back. i bet on your double cab, you will have tad less up front, for that bit of rake.

    FYI, there is some guy selling the same kit i bought NIB for cheap in the classifieds.
