I actually covered the seats with CoverKing fabric seat covers, as again, I couldn't stand the OEM DARK seats. As for the carpet, I DID look into it and actually contacted a company that specializes in replacement carpets. They had exact fit carpets for the 1st and 2nd generation Tacomas, but not yet for the 3rd generation. They actually offered me a FREE carpet for the truck, if I would only just remove the OEM one and send it in to them so they could copy it and then, have a model which to make carpets for the 3rd generation. But in looking at what would be involved, as I would have to pretty much dismantle the interior, remove the carpet, and then either put everything back until I received the new carpet, then remove it all again, install the new carpet and put everything back in, or do without a truck until I got the new carpet. I just decided to live with it as neither option was good to me.

It was overlayed with what I prefer to call "faux leather" which is vinyl. I obtained it from Keystonbros.com. They have offices all over the US, but I actually got it in person at the San Francisco location. It turned out that the upholsterer was an authorized dealer for them, but I only found that out after I had bought the vinyl directly from them. he told me that I got top of the line vinyl that was not supposed to dry or crack, so I was glad about that. To me, the thumbnail that I used for the video, where I have the upholster hold up one of the rear panels that he had done, as well as one of the front panels that I had just brought to him, that pic was priceless as it clearly showed the dramatic difference between the OEM and what I had done. And man, the first time I took the truck into the dealer for one of my free services, the entire service department came over with their cameras out, taking pics and videos, as none of them could believe how good it looked! Kinda' made me feel pretty good!

There are quite a few useful ones.

    1. Bed mat
    2. 40 dollar trailer spare tire mount mounted to side rail.
    3. Header rail for front of box.
    4. 25 dollar bike fork mounts mounted to rail.
    5. Demon brackets.
    6. OEM skid plate.
    7. Military gas can mount.

    Not necessarily in this order...

    1. Homelink mirror
    2. Bed mat
    3. Power Tailgate lock
    4. Passenger proximity door handle
    5. Bed lighting / under hood lighting
    6. Tailgate letter inserts
    7. Shiftsense

(Mine came with tonneau cover, floor mats, sill covers, mud flaps.)

For me it has been the bed mat (absolute must), center console organizer, black exhaust tip (to match my black emblems), 2nd generation running boards, and Truxedo tonneau cover. Coming soon are bed cargo net organizer, LED interior lights, and maybe the TRD shift knob. Wish list are black OEM TRD wheels and Wildpeak A/T3W tires...

I see you have a ‘19, and so do I. Does Toyota make an OEM tailgate lock for the ‘19s, or did you use the one for the ‘20s? If you used one for the ‘20s, did you have to modify it at all?

As far as i know, it's for the '16 and up. It's actually for the TRD, not the SR5. The only difference is that the instructions say to wire tie the lock cable to an existing harness that runs along the right side of the frame. The problem is that that harness is not on the SR5, because the SR5 doesn't have the 110v outlet in the bed.

All you have to do is cable tie the harness directly to the rail. There's a separate thread on installing the lock in the 3rd Gen forum.

Yes they do make an OEM tailgate lock for the 19s. I have a 2019 TRD Sport and after buying it, I learned from tacomaworld, of the existence of a power tailgate lock but at the time, it was only available to dealers in the southeastern US for some reason! But I know a person at a dealer in NC, and I actually bought one from him, even though I knew that it was simply a PopNLock rebranded by Toyota at the time, complete with Toyota part numbers, even though the packaging still said PopNLock! Anyway, I made a video of my own special install, which was different slightly than that instructed by Toyota. Since I didn't need the tailgate to be constantly locking and unlocking with the power door locks, I learned that PopNLock actually offers a rocker switch that mounts anywhere you want it, and simply locks/unlocks the tailgate by just rocking the switch! That was exactly what I wanted! I will include the link to that installation video here, as well as the official detailed instructions from Toyota.

Ceramic coating right after taking from the dealer will keep your Taco look cool for a long time.

I hear you on the Subaru tweeter "upgrade". I think a lot of people who do the swap really want to believe they got a good return on their money but in all reality I personally don't hear a big difference. More hype than anything IMO.

I've had this net for over a year and it's still like new. Works great, it gets a workout with groceries and such. Keep stuff from rolling all over the bed. Fits nicely in the right side cubby when not in use.
