I picked up this little guy today with the hopes of making it a little "overland" off-road capable trailer. It measures about 45" wide and 68" long, which is less than my rtt, but I don't think that'll matter to me. It also tilts, which I don't think I'll ever need.

Plans are to fill in the sides, and put a top on it with the rtt mounted to it. Not sure if I want to do a hinge and gas struts, or just bolt on bars like a bed bar system. It's got this weird torsion axle thing that's gotta go. I would ideally like to put matching tires and wheels to my truck on it.

I plan on shortening the tongue a bit, lock-n-roll hitch, and figure out a narrow enough but strong enough axle and hub for the narrow width. Frame is a c-channel type steel I'm sure I'll be adding pieces to for strength, but ideally keep it as light as possible.

    Any ideas or recommendations welcome

My timbren axleless system will be here today! I have some free 285/70/17 tires I picked up that will be going on my old SEMA wheels. Progress will start here pretty quickly finally

It's gonna look real funky with the 6" lift the 33s are gonna give it, with my rtt that's larger than it is. Decided on a lock-n-roll hitch. Plywood for the sides. The biggest "hurdle" is going to be removing the old axle and fenders, welding enough support metal to mount the Timbrens too, and fabricating new fenders

You might check your local farm supply store, there’s a lot of good parts available, and fenders are surprisingly cheap.

if you don't mind me asking, what'd the timbrens run you? been trying to figure out the most "cost effective" method of having an offroad trailer....
    a) buy a teardrop/squaredrop
    b) buy an enclosed trailer and mod it up
    c) fuck it, build it from scratch-ish (similar to this method)

It was about $900. I think you could do it a little cheaper if you didn't want matching hubs, but that was a requirement for me.

These are waaaay beefier than anything on my trailer. I'm going to have to do some serious strengthening to mount these
