    hi everyone.
Just wanted to share some speaker mod I added.
First of all, I hope you won't wait 1 year after you bought the speaker to install them.
Here are some pictures. I wired up the new speakers to the Big speaker wires in the door. Impedance matching wasn't done, it was un-necessary in this mods case.
Enjoy. Shoot questions if any. ;).
Also, Big thanks to @Volksparts who helped me

YouTube has excellent videos how to take off the door panel. I had a good friend. Be careful about those tabs on the small triangle section I removed. I lost all 3 while putting it back, and have to buy new ones. These speakers are directional, and can be turned towards you or away from you. I wanted to install these forever, waited too long. Another user here gave me the idea.

Those are called tweeters, and hopefully you installed them with at least a resistor/bass blocker or added a crossover?
That’s just a JBL logo. Meant to be stuck on the tweeters cover but you can place them wherever you want if you wish. Had no benefit to improve the sound

Im just curious as to what it really bought you, since there are already tweeters in the dash....

He really wanted to improve the sound of his highs. Compared to the stock tweeters on the non JBL system this was definitely an upgrade. Gives us sounds that are not normally heard with regular speakers.

I personally have the JBL system. But I used to be a stereo and alarm installer at Best buy and this is a common thing that we used to install to give the user a more full sound.

Agreed, but from what I've been reading, most people are just replacing the factory tweeter in its location, not creating a new tap off the existing speaker and drilling holes into their panels. I just could see some interference/ frequency cancelling happening with two seperate tweeters so close to each other.

Now if he did it properly, disconnecting the stock tweeters and using a proper crossover to the new tweeters, then , but OPs original post sounds as if he did not.

I did the same thing, but I used the stadium 3 way component system (2.5 inch mids in the dash, tweeters in the sails and 6x9 in the doors)

I went a different route on mounting than you did though. Instead of using the flush mount cups, I used the surface mount cups and just hot glued them into the hole I cut.

    Those tweeters have inline crossovers

I did not disconnect the stock tweeters. As I have said somewhere in my post, these tweeters are directional. They move in their coupler, and allow you to move/direct the angle of the tweeters just like how we adjust the air-con vent overhead our seats in an airplane. I just adjust it towards me to avoid any interference. Of-course, no guarantee that it's not cancelling as I am not doing any acoustics study here. To me, this tweeter is more closer to me, and directed at straight at me. So it's a major improvement over the stock speakers/tweeters of the highs. :).

Plus, I had these tweeters, wanted to put them to use somewhere.
