Stone Mtn used to be it's own little town but in the last 10 years Atlanta has pretty much enveloped it. It's considered an outer ring suburb. "Going into town" used to mean driving the 20 minutes to get to Atlanta. At this point it's just one big suburban sprawl mess. Don't get me wrong, I still love the "Big Rock" but it lacks the character it used to have.

I used to have a house there. Family sold it right when I was old enough to drive. :(

I still go up a few times a year though. Was there 2 weeks ago.

I worked for Dow Chemical when I first moved here, about 25 miles away in Gales Ferry. Plant closed last year so now I go to college.

Benton, Mo....the little town my family is from. I moved away when I was 4 and only been back twice :(, wish I could go more...but I'd never live there again! "As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 732 people, 287 households, and 191 families residing in the city."

    Live in Salisbury North Cakalaka.

Funny thing about this small town is the amount of under-the-table blue blood and good ol boyism. This place clearly illustrates the maxim of "Don't burden yourself with the secrets of scary people". Most of the time in this town, if it smells odd, just walk away. You don't want to dig deeper.

Only thing that changes are the crazy mansions that are being built in replace of some old cabins/ lots.
