x2 this question.. I was in the same boat as you.. I only decided to get 4 tires. Worst case scenario if the back tire blows out.. i'll take the front wheel off and move it back there and replace the front with the stock steelie spare.

I know that this is an old thread, but wanted to see if someone can chime in. I just got my 2018 TRD OR 4x4 and put on 275/70/17 K02 AT's. I have a spare that is 265/70/17. Is this sufficient or do I need to upgrade it to 275/70/17? I'd hate to waste another $200+ for the spare, but I also don't want to jack up the diff's. Thanks.

I'm not buying it that 1" difference in tire diameter will hurt an open diff. After all, what do you think is going on with the spider gears inside the front diff when going down the highway in 2wd? They're spinning like a ground bloom flower on the 4th of July. Besides that, what about all the bazillions of cars on the road with doughnut spares? They don't come with a warning, "Here's a spare, but if you use it you void your warranty".

Seems to me it would be like driving in a circle for awhile. Outside turning faster than the inside. It's designed to do that, so I don't think it would hurt anything.

You put 265/65 on a 18x9 wheel ? I thought that was to small for a 9in wheel , I was under the impression you had to go to a 285 for a 9in wheel
