Hello- I had a question for anyone who has used Smart Path.

I came to an agreement with a dealership on a new Tacoma Pro, did the complete purchase process through Smart Path, have numerous emails from the dealership saying the vehicle was mine and updating me on the process, sent in a non-refundable deposit, drivers license, tag, etc...

I generally go on Smart Path every couple of days to see the status, and any new vehicles out there. I went on there today and it says the vehicle is "no longer available." The dealership also took it down from their website.

Is this normal for Smart Path? It was supposed to go in for build next week. Or did they sell it out from under me? I am waiting to hear back from someone there.

every dealer is different...I have seen some remove it and some mark is pending sale. Some don't even change the status. See if you can get a sales contract with the permanent VIN on it.

I put a deposit on my truck while it was still listed as "In Transit". About a week before it arrived at the dealer, it disappeared from both Toyota's website and the dealer's website. I never asked why, but that's what happened. Hope you get your new Pro soon and congratulations.

I would check it again today or tomorrow. Might have been a software maintenance issue.

No longer available could be because it's committed to you. And not available to others.

We can't really answer your question. Only the dealer can.

Hopefully it works out for you.

Non refundable deposit would seem like you better get what you asked for.

Thank you all very much for the feedback. I am going to keep an eye on the website and wait to hear back from the dealer. I am hoping it was only some type of glitch or that because it is committed to me, they took it down. I am too close now for the let down. Haha.

    Thanks!

I mean, have you called them? Sounds from your post it’s all been online so far. If you haven’t just give them a ring and associate a voice to who you’re dealing with so it’ll be easier when you go in to drive home!

Is this really necessary to secure the vehicle? Care to share what the amount was? (just curious if there is a minimum?)

Yes, I left a message as well as emailed. I didn’t see it until later in the day and they are closed on the 4th. I am going to call back tomorrow morning. My deposit wasn’t refunded so I am hoping it is just some type of mistake or they took it down.

I was on several waiting lists with “refundable” deposits. I did not get on the lists with non refundable until I came to a deal with a dealership. Once we came to terms and I sent in my credentials and such, then I got my other deposits back. At this point I was just waiting for the build and take delivery when I was hit with that curveball.

I paid MSRP, but agreed to finance with Toyota for (3) months in lieu of a markup. I will then refinance the loan amount with Navy Fed.

The dealer confirmed today that the build is still active on their end and it is still allocated. However, Smart Path and the dealers website still say, "no longer available." Very odd, but hopefully it is just a glitch...

Side note- I went to a local dealer today that is getting their second one in next week. Still a $10k markup. No clue how they get away with doing that.
