iphone7 no prob really with entune, no wireless charging capability with the 7 however, without the Qi case, .... and I like my Otterbox way too much for that

For anyone with an S7, does having a case on the phone effect the wireless charging performance?

    • Mine charges fine. (my case is ~1mm thick) - do your math though, inductive charging decreases as the square of the distance so 3 mm can theoretically be 9 times less powerful, if you assume per the spec that Qi1.0= 1 amp at 0mm distance (58.4 C /137 F), you want it as close a possible...most chargers will give 1 amp at 1.2mm and the current rule of thumb is "works" at 3 mm but that is likely about 55% degradation or about .45 amp. I do not believe the Taco Qi pad is the 'fast charger' 15 amp. pad. Also, being Centered on the pad is key. Even a 5 mm off-center can, per spec, degrade the charge a lot (<>50%)
    • Entune has been flaky with prior iPhones 5s and 6, so I abandoned it and have not tried again.
    • I do pair to use for AppleMusic and Siri: I also find paring is best done twice...connect...restart phone, disconnect...connect...restart phone, then the "rapid skipping" goes away, have had this on all phones...likely a paring issue where it tries to cache data on the radio and gets messed up.

I’m using the UAG case and it charges pretty well. Every so often it won’t charge, I get the double blinking light at the charger.

Page 422 of my owners manual: Flashing is per spec...when they get too hot, the phone postpones charging until cools...or stops at ~80% or both. Remove from charger so it cools "completely" and then return. This is not avoidable as magnetic induction is inefficient and causes more heat, so rather then overheat the "safety" kicks in. You can leave it on the pad but it will cycle back and forth...faster to top if you cool the phone and it then finishes in one step.

    From my note above:
    • Mine charges fine. (my case is ~1mm thick) - do your math though, inductive charging decreases as the square of the distance so 3 mm can theoretically be 9 times less powerful, if you assume per the spec that Qi1.0= 1 amp at 0mm distance (58.4 C /137 F), you want it as close a possible...most chargers will give 1 amp at 1.2mm and the current rule of thumb is "works" at 3 mm but that is likely about 55% degradation or about .45 amp.
