I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
I think I might be stepping into a hornet's nest here but here goes. :duel:

I feel like you have to get what is comfortable for YOU in way of weapon, holster and use of. I've got friends that are hardcore Sig or Glock or Kimber etc. I carried for work for past 20 years. Off duty carry had to be the issued Glock/sig. Well now that I'm onto stage two of life, I went nuts searching. I was in the same boat as you but ultimately ended up waiting and bought a sig p938. I wear it 12 hours a day now. It was close between the glock 43 and the sig. I also tried a few revolvers. Holsters and location seemed to make the biggest difference for all day wear. I've got numerous holsters but finally went with the AW mentioned above. It's big but comfy; and draw is not bad. The sig comes with a plastic clip on that I use when I'm not trying to conceal. I've constantly got pistols and holsters loaned out. If you have folks near you that would do that it might be a good idea. Everyone is built different. Then once you get happy there, tons of practice. Or come to Alaska for a visit and try any of mine out.

I have a M&P Shield in 9mm and it is my concealed carry. I really enjoy it, but I dont shoot it enough. I have to drive about an hour to go shooting and its only on Saturday that I could go. I got mine about this time last year at cabelas during their sale, so you may check them out if you have one close by. What I like most about it is the thin profile and the low weight. Good luck with your purchase.

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
The 9c is a great gun, that being said I also have a shield in 9mm which I CC way more often due to its slimmer frame. I too did apex triggers in my m&ps. For one of my jobs I carry a full size m&p 40, that too is a great gun. That being said I do like my glocks as well lol

I recently bought myself a M&P 9 VTAC, fires great and yeah the trigger could use some work but compared to my old Glock the ergonomics are significantly better. All that being said to each is own and I always say test out a weapon before you buy if possible. just my 2 cents

I've shot a m&p 40 and I really liked it I have big hands and it fit really well... I cc a ruger lc9 and my wife cc a lcr 38+p the lcr is very light and hammer less which makes it perfect for her pocketbook!! Springfield guns also shoot really well. I've never been a glock fan they just don't feel right!! Just my crappy opinion

I'm late to the party but I have six M&P pistols at last count. I like them a lot. There's a Shield on my hip right now, actually.

I got to check out the Glock 19 Gen 4 Saturday. It didnt feel right. The trigger guard was uncomfortable against my middle finger. And the angle of the grip is odd too

    None yet.
I have a couple M&P 9 FS with Apex triggers in them. I prefer them over my G19 Gen4 with Zev trigger. The grip angle and general feel of the M&P is great. Even though i have a Gen4 the Glock still feels like a Glock. The M&P trigger out of the box is horrific and consider the Apex kits as a must have.

I pulled the trigger on the M&P about 2 weeks ago (Pulled the trigger, get it?). 100% happy with the purchase. I am eventually going to do the trigger on it though.

My holster arrived a week ago and Ive been carry it a lot. Much more comfortable that my 1911.

I have the S&W shield 40 cal performance center model, better sights, trigger, and ported barrel, has a thumb safety.
It also comes in 9mm, closer to $500

to be honest, i am biased towards glock. One of my first glocks was a G19, have over 20K rounds through it, and have only changed recoil springs. But i will be honest, i was very surprised when i shot my buddies M&P 9. it actually felt better in my hand than my G19. I would like to get an M&P, but they are no longer on California Approved list, and i dont want to pay premium for it.

Had a M&P 40 and didn't like it. Stove piped a few times and not a fan of .40. I have carried that, sub compact sig and now carry sig p239. In my opinion the sigs are the best for the money. Never had any jams especially with reloads and cases of target loads. Very accurate and reliable. That said they're both 9mm and I've carried everything and I have a box of holsters just collecting dust. I have friends that carry compact 45s but they aren't the most reliable. When I fish I throw a ruger lcp in my pocket and go but otherwise sig 239 Itwb carry and hardly feel it.
    That's my 2 cents.
