i bought a new XRC 9.5 winch the beginning of last week.
Monday i called and told them that i did not get a shipping notification
and asked when it would ship.
I was told that my winch was setting on a boat in the middle of the harbour.
and that the dock workers was on strike. That there store will be the first to receive the winches but they have no idea when it will be.

meen while I had my AP bumper line x'd and don't want to put it back on until i have the winch mounted. so it looks like i will not have my truck on the road for a while.

I guess buy American next time? Be patient, those harbor workers bust their butts all week long just like you and me. They deserve better working conditions and benefits for their families. The shipowners (largely International companies) are trying to punish American longshoremen. It's not right. Be patient for your product and support these guys out West trying to get what they deserve for an honest day's work. :oldglory:

Well technically they were "in stock and ready to ship" but the people who are supposed to do the shipping are on strike. I see nothing wrong on smittybilt's part. Just shitty timing.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
Yeah, because everyone in the USA should be making WalMart wages
Maybe, instead of complaining about how much the few remaining good jobs make, the rest of us should be complaining about what shit wages we've settled for over the years. We're the chumps, not the longshoremen.

I can get you one shipped out today if you're in a bind and need one right away. The shop I manage has them in stock. Synthetic cable and steel.

Upsets the hell out of me also when a distributor lists something as in stock, charges you for the item, then has the gall to e-mail you that the part is on back order. If I knew the part was on back order in the first place I would have gone to someone that can actually get me the item I wanted shipped to me that day. Shennanigans I tell ya...

Not sure what this means. Are you not free to look for a new job?

The fact is these folks are grossly overpaid and are asking for more. Their leverage is their need, which is substantial. If they win, your winch will cost $50 more in a few months to offset their ridiculous salary. In a typical labor "strategic" move, they have slowed their work by 50% over the last 4 months. This strike could cost the US economy $2B a day.

Yeah dude (maddaddy), they and their families deserve better. Screw the rest of us.

You are free to better yourself at any time. Go back to college or go find a better paying job.

Unions ruin American industry. Lets keep asking for more money and more paid time off until we bankrupt the company, then complain that we have no more jobs. Watched the steel industry in my area do it. Watched the Aluminum plant do the same.

Now let me also say Unions had their place. They gave us as workers what we have today. Now they are just good for killing companies.

Walmart wages are for high school and college kids, not to live on. Walmart is the number one employer in WV....that is freaking sad.

Had the same issue, stuff on the boat, with my OME kit from a reputable vendor. I knew up front it would be delayed and it turned out to be longer than expected, I did just get tracking info that it's on the way. Wasn't a problem for me since the weather's been to crummy to install it anyway.
I think if you have patience it'll probably be to you in a few weeks time. Sorry to hear you didn't get the info up front, for some it's more about the money. Hopefully everything works out for you.

Try and get a long shoring job. Close to impossible if your not born into it or want to work as a temp forever. 2 of my friend, one my best, work the Port of Tacoma and so did their dads. I'd love to have their jobs. They don't bust their asses, it's pretty easy work from what they tell me. I'm all for the getting all you can and what you think you deserve but the way their doing it is effecting a lot of the economy in Washington state and across the country. From the truckers who have nothing to move, retailers waiting on product to farmers that cant get their crops overseas. Just cancel your order and find a vender that can confirm they have one in stock.

Or just mount the bumper andwait to put the winch on later. It comes off pretty easy with the help of a friend to help lift it.
