It will probably end up being more than buying one that is already ano'd, but you could do custom colors. Just Google it and you should be able to find someone either local to you, or who you could ship it to to have it done.

Well got a call back about getting that ano'd and they charged a flat $75 min not couting any polishing needed. So that is out the window, back to buying a new one or powdercoating. told him I could get a new one for $75 already done and have two so I was going to pass.

I'm talking to them now. They say their promo was only through June and not August when I ordered mine. I told them it was a specific reason I ordered when I did. They are "double checking" now. We'll see.

I used the "Live Help" and they sorted me out. They said we don't show it, but here you go. I felt a little bad since it may be my mistake, but they said its ok and would send it out. I've only ordered two things from them, but they have fixed issues both times quickly and pleasantly.

I had hosted a group buy on Over size 1/0 for Big 3 upgrade with Winch cable add on Solenoid relocation. The 1/0 is definitely Over size and most people were shocked at the size.

Im not sure when I'm going to host one again but if there is enough demand again i surely can figure something out. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/group-buys/309921-shok-industries-big3-wiring-gb.html.

Proper cables is Super important, probably the Most important. Make sure the big3 is done as well.

Don't want to hate on everyone's parade, but here's my review for those who are on the fence: if you like to get out in the backcountry and do some wheeling, make sure you have additional recovery options (preferably other winches). My XRC9.5 left me stranded in the mountains a long way from anywhere for two days due to multiple failures (drum anchor, clutch, and finally the motor locked up). That's when I learned that the best warranty on the planet doesn't do any good when you're 50 miles from a road.

The mods that have been mentioned in this thread (re-greasing, silicone/RTV waterproofing) are all essential to prolonging the life of these winches, and I'll add another one which would have helped me quite a bit. The drum anchor is a mild steel machine screw (at least for the wire rope versions) that has about 3 threads worth of embedment into the drum - mine tore the threads right out after a couple of hard pulls. It didn't shear off (I always leave more than 5 wraps on the drum), the spooling of the wire over the top of the screw under load deformed the soft steel until it stripped the threads out. I highly recommend replacing that anchor screw with a grade 8 hardened fastener with some additional thread length. I don't know the setup on the synthetic line versions, but I suspect it's something similar.

I have since upgraded to a Warn Zeon 10-s, which is 4 times the price but would have paid for itself if it would have kept me from missing two days of work.
