    Does anyone know if the Smittybilt den 3 (9.5K) is 'really' not clockable? I'm installing it on an ARB bull bar, so I'd like to be able to reach the handle through the front of the bumper. The manual says that would null the warranty, but I'm wondering if it would still work.

    thanks!

    @what road

    Isn't this the same winch you're running on your ARB?

    Make sure you drill for that long sleeved bolt.

    Now that I finally got around to actually doing the arb bumper install with the smittybilt winch, I can say 'yes, the the Smittybilt 3K winch is clockable' and, yes, it all fits... mostly. According to the documentation, rotating the gear box will void the warranty, but I decided to bite the bullet and try it because it wouldn't fit in the bumper without moving things around (and I bought the extend warranty and they said they take it back even if I screwed something up). The 'mostly' fits part is because the warn and smittybilt control box mounts and sizes are different so the arb mounting bracket doesn't line up with the smittybilt mounting holes. Nothing a small plate with some holes drilled can't fix, but just an FYI if you're looking at this combo.

    I just did this today and it was a HUGE pain in the ass. How did you mount your control box?

    Interesting. I have lights there so I’m going to have to come up with some other way
