    You could go 4.56

I've been rocking the 3.73s and haven't had issue for over a year

I'm running 4.56's and 315/70/17's is pretty damn close to stock overall. It's alittle over geared on the top end doing 60+ for my tastes but the low end is great when off road. Also Nathan has the best of both worlds, the 4.10's are probably better at highway speeds and then the crawl box gives him the low low he needs for crawling.

Auto, I got better highway mpg on 3.73's but the power trade off you get back with 4.56's is worth it to me. I get around 14 now consistently.

I'm running 4.88's with 35's and auto. My truck is kind of a pig. Lots of weight since I'm into the Expo style stuff. Did a lot of research for a little while and felt that 4.88's would suit me better than 4.56's. Definitely gained a ton of low end power back. I don't daily my truck so I wasn't too worried about MPG.

Auto with 35's, heaps of armor and running 4.56. If I had to do it again I'd go with 4.88's.

About five or six if I recall. I have a GPS nav unit in the dash now and it reports my current speed so that's been my speedo for about a year now.

    :D

You're not the first person I've heard say that. A good portion of the guys I've heard that we're on an auto trans with 35's and 4.56 said they wish they would have gone 4.88.

Through research I've concluded that these are best (opinion)

    Manual trans + 35's = 4.56
    Auto trans + 35's = 4.88

Of course there are variables to take into account. Weight, type of wheeling, etc.

When I was regearing I told Chase at ECGS exactly how I used my truck and he helped me pull the trigger on 4.88's. He said if I didn't have all the weight of an expo rig then 4.56 but because I have all the stuff 4.88's was best for me. So far over the last couple years having 4.88's I've been very happy! I trusted ECGS to help me make the decision since gears are what they do for a living hahaha

I only get 13 on the 3.73s but I only drive with in 4. Got tired of it continually shifting in and out of 5th on hills.

Yeah that drove me crazy as well. It's great with 4.56's I hardly ever drop a gear when going uphill

Looks like you've stirred up the hornets nest. I get along just fine with 4.10's, but 4.56 would have been better.

    Next stop? 5.38's

Hoping to do 4.56 if everything works out and will go up to a 35...

I ran 285/75/17's for a while and liked them alot, bad thing is tire choices are limited in that size...
