    I picked them up from a guy in San Antonio using craigslist. They're still sitting on the shelf though. Have to find a rear locker first. I don't want to do the install twice.

    Here's how I do my maintenance at my loft. I've recently added a pneumatic grease gun to the setup. Today was my first time using it and I have to say it works like a dream. Oh, and the creeper is a new addition. That made life easier today.

    Finally got an electric grease gun for work. I feel so spoiled with that thing. Either style definitely beats the hand pump gun.

    Which brand is that creeper?

    Milwaukee cordless grease gun FTW. Over kill for a truck, but necessary for something that takes more than one tube.

    The new gun is a Lincoln and was worth every penny ofthe $75 I paid for it. I was going to get the stanadard Lincoln but it didn't come with the longer flex hose. The cost of the standard one with the replacement hose would have been $50.

    The creeper is a Lisle. Works like a charm.

    Thanks buddy. It makes life a lot easier considering I have to carry everything up and down three floors.

    Overkill yes, but it makes life easy.

    Well, I think it's time I get off my ass and pick up a rear locker. This past weekend at Barnwell Mountain was all skinny pedal and momentum. I'd much rather be in more control heading up than that.

    Time for a CB. Here's what I've picked up:

    Cobra 75WXST radio
    K40 4' 1500W Superflex antenna
    Firestick HD spring
    Cobra S500 CB Speaker
    Blendlovemoun foldover mount

    really like the pilican fuse box setup! had i known about it, i would have taken a look at barnwell. next time :)

    you'll like the cb antenna fold down for sure. i have a slightly different one, but use it all of the time when i have longer items on my roof or bed rack. recently though, it's just used for fitting in the parking garage at work :rolleyes:

    Hey Colin, I'll be sure to show off the box the next time we get together. I finished the CB install yesterday. I'm not happy with the SWR readings though. Every chanel is at 3.0. I have some troubleshooting to do.

    I'm running a 5ft K40 on the ARB up front. There's a good amount of the antenna above the roof. I'm not saying that's not the issue, but it's not a 2ft firestick.

    whith any good tunable antenna, while the length may affect range, it shouldn't affect tunability.

    The tunable tip on the K40 is about 3" long, and moving it up from the home position didn't bring the SWR down any. I have the mount isolated, I think, and the coax shield grounded to the bumper about three inches from the connection to the antenna. The cable runs along the passenger fender, across the firewall, and then down under the truck. I pass the cable through the floor board next to the ebrake cable. The antenna cable is 18' long.

    I will check my grounds again this evening.

    You've got plenty of antenna then. Mine comes in at 1.5 with a 3ft Firestik

    length also affects SWR. Too short antenna=high SWR and too long antenna=low SWR
