He had slid down a drop off and his driver side tire got kicked out the wrong way, he couldnt reverse any to be able to turn his wheels either. we hooked up the winches and attempted pulling him back only to discover his crossmember had dropped off and was catching on the ledge preventing him from going backwards... so we ended up getting his hi lift and pushing off of his front bumper at an angle, pushed him away from the driver side to the middle of the trail...

It was also discovered at this time that a certain winch on a white truck wasnt shall we say..... working like it should have lol

That explains the two winch cables. :)

Fortunately the guys down the hill figured out that he was hung up on his cross member before we tried pulling with both winches.

Going to be stepping up to a 35 soon and was considering the grabbers again until I realized the 35" grabber is a load range E tire. My 33's are C's and have a capacity of 2040lbs vs. the 35's 3195lb capacity.

That's not gonna cut it. Time to look for a different tire.

My 33's rub the frame up front, so a 37 doesn't sound like the best option.

I'm leaning towards the Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar, 35x12.5x17.

If you go 35, are you going to regear?

Homebrew bumpers and sliders, 5100s & Eibachs up front and mutt leaf pack out back, 285s & Wheelers type B, sway bar deleted. Wife's ride: 01 4Runner 4wd sport. Stock with exception of TRD taco coils, and shift kit.
 you don't have to go any lower for dirty-fives on a 2nd gen? My 1st gen is to high with 33s and 4.10s with a manual. Then again I'm a newb to 2nd gens so maybe I'm missing something but I didn't think any taco was happy on 35s and 4.10s.

I like the goodyear MTR plan. I wanted to go with those but couldn't swing em. Maybe next time. I miss my load range E tires though. I know I don't need em but they gave me a piece of mind when wheeling/driving.
