Lots of options once I get the mounts in place, and that sounds like a good place to start. I'm going to start with a 5" shackle and go from there. I can easily make different shackles if the 5" ones don't work.

Good thought on taking the leaves from the bottom too.

I measured the axle housing. It comes out to 3.22", so 3.25" it is. I'll get the rough stuff kit on the way.

Why is it that I never need anything from ruffstuff when they're running a sale?

Just ordered the ruffstuff Ideal 63" chevy leaf spring kit.

I need to figure out what bumpstops or cans I'm going to use now.

Nice  So do you think this would be a cheaper option (and better) rather than a custom set of alcans?

If I had gone with junk yard leafs I would be way ahead on price, but after a few suggestions I bought new skyjacker lift springs. With that being said the truck will perform better, have more carrying capacity, and more options for upgrades with the 63's.

That's the nice thing more performance for the same price and like you said it will be cheaper to upgrade in the future.

Both of my ball joints are now bad on my Light Racing upper control arms. There is visible movement and clicking noises coming from them. I called SPC and provided them with the following information:

    - Original purchase receipt
    - 3 digit lot number (found on the side of the ball joint)
    - Approximate mileage on the arms
    - Make/model/year of the truck

With that information they were able to warranty the ball joints. I will have a new set of ball joints by either Friday or Monday. That's some great customer service!

The replacement ball joints are $127 a piece, so it's really nice that SPC is replacing them under warranty.

How long have you had yours and who did you call? Mine are showing the same symptoms. I contacted the retailer that gave me a couple numbers of SPC. Called them all and never got an answer and never heard back.

The number I called was, 303-772-2103, which went right to a real person. :)

The purchase date on the receipt was 2/7/2012, and I've probably put 40k on them.

That's gonna be a long day, but we'll have enough beer if we're spending all of my savings from not having to buy ball joints.

My complaint though is after I swap out the Upper Ball Joints I will have to get an alignment to get them set correctly right? Alignments take time and $.

Yup, you will FUBAR your alignment as soon as you pull the ball joints. I've made friends with my local alignment guy, so I'll have him put the truck on the rack and swap the joints out right there. That way I don't have to drive on a bad alignment.

You could even do the swap in the shop's parking lot.

In theory if you mark the location of the ball joints prior to swapping them and install the new ones in line with the marks the alignment will not be that bad off if at all

Well you have had your LR arms longer than me. I don't think that mine are bad yet though. The boots on them got fucked up when the spindle gussets were welded on so it won't be long though I'm sure...

As for alignment, I set the camber on the UCA all the way out. That way if they ever move or I have to take the arm apart for whatever reason I know right where it goes again and don't have to get it realigned. It widens out your stance a little and adds probably a tiny amount of travel as well.
