Awesome!! So what does your Shackle angle look like at ride height right now? I'm confused on that part. It dictates your ride height/lift right?

 

Here's the shackle at ride height. You're looking for 45 to 50 degrees. My shackle actually went slightly negative when I fully twisted up the truck, but that situation won't happen very often.

 

So then they go to 180 at full droop?

 

Also any ideas how to get these off? Just cut and buy new ones? Hopefully an auto parts store has EM...

 

Correct, vertical at full droop. You don't want to go past vertical.

You don't want to take that off. You need the spring keepers to keep the leafs from separating.

Well i needed to take the overload off but mostly just to paint them

 

Well, you know that pulling the center pin will let you drop the overload. As far as painting them just leave them together. The local spring shop just scrubs them down and sprays the outside. It'll look fine. The paint is just going to get rubbed off anyway.

 

Seriously?? I know some people remove springs. If you think it's just fine to pressure wash them then hit them with spray paint then I just might... Hopefully I don't need to remove a leaf though. Can I reuse the center pins or is that a no no?

 

The leafs would be fine as is, but wash em down and spray. The only time anyone will be able to know you didn't spray between the leafs is when you're fully flexed out.

I doubt you'll be removing a leaf. Just use your shackle length to change your height if necessary. That will require moving the rear mount though.

If the threads look good on the center pin use it.

 

Well I can't get one off of the overload for the life of me lol. An auto parts or hardware store should have them right...?

 

Put the nut back on the threads and beat it out with a hammer. You might get lucky and find a center pin at a hardware store. If not see if there are any leaf spring shops in your neck of the woods.

Got it out! Just found out the center pin is too long now without the overloads haha

 

Just cut it. Make sure you put the nut below the threads though. That way you can straighten out the threads by taking the nut off after the cut.
