Nathan, any chance you know what the bolt size that fits the weldnuts on the roof beneath the weather strip?

I don't know for sure, but I'm going to guess that they're either m6x1.5 or m8x1.5.

Good point. M6x1.5 is a safe bet.

Glad to help. If they're not m6x1.5 let me know.

Also, I keep a couple m8x1.5's in my toolbag for trail repairs. They've come in handy a couple of times. There are also places on the truck where you can steal a bolt for the same purpose.

Thanks, I'm headed over to Fastenal in a little bit. I'll just buy enough for what I need of both that way I'll have extra of either if the need ever arises.
By the way, nice job on the traction bar project! Was that a one off, or possible addition to the trail toys selection after some R&D?

Nathan, on the new bar, did you use bushings at the axle, and then a bushing at the upper end of the shackle? rod ends at the front of the bar, and where the upper link hits the lower link?

if I don't get around to linking my rear end this summer, I'm going to have to knock out a traction bar until I can.

Thanks bud. Right now it's a one off. I don't know how many people would want to sacrifice their stock muffler for a traction bar. I had planned on making a new front mount, but ended up using my old ATO mount. That made my life easier, but didn't help with R&D.

The upper and lower axle mounts are rubber bushings. The front mount is a 3" shackle with a heim, and the middle is a heim as well.

Remember the front mount on the old ATO bar? Didn't you help me put that thing on way back when?

Here's the front mount. I had to crop and lighten another picture, so if this isn't clear I'll have to take another shot later.

I 100% remember installing that pain in the ass crossmember mount. I just couldn't remember if it was a bushing or heim.

I found the dent in the body from the "custom" clearancing needed to get that mount in place. I'm just glad I didn't toss it.

There's a bushing in the mount of course. I should put a gopro down there and see how the traction bar is behaving on acceleration.
