Smog pump noise

I have a 2015 (93 miles) the noise on engine shut down is odd and just not right ,a logical repair would involve a check valve and/or a solenoid valve on the discharge hose. Does anyone know what other car makers do to battle the noise problem?

 

Do you mean it's not right as in somethings wrong, or you don't like it? All the newer trucks, as of 12 I believe, make the smog pump noise. Kind of a clunk suction noise.

 

it sounds like a pump. its normal, it shuts off after a few seconds.

 

The 12's smog pumps don't run after shut-off like the 13-up trucks. They run after engine shut down to help evacuate any residual moisture within the pump. Toyota has had bad luck with the smog pumps, especially on the Tundras. I have already had mine in for the smog pump once last winter, I wish mine was programmed to run after shutdown as it would help with future issues.

 

Yes it's 13 and up. Also trucks in these years make a feint sound after you start them up and drive forward about 10 feet. It's the air injection pump.
