I thought about putting up a sign, but then I decided to just kick it in the sidewalk where the dogs can stop to eat it.

If you are gonna replace that POS go buy an aftermarket inverter that covers your power needs.........

The 110v/400w socket in the bed is useless, I would change the inverter to a 1000w model. A drill or hairdryer needs at least 550w/110v.

Mods? What's a mod? Bone stock, baby. Well, okay. Maybe a few smallish mods. If you count a locking gas cap, coin holder and a behind-the-seat trash bag.
The answer is: No. Don't smoke in the cab. It stinks up the fabric and the ashes can burn the upholstery.

Why would the inverter not kick off? I tried to use something that required more juice then was available and the inverter just turned itself off, isn't there a fuse or something similar to prevent this failure?

    Sorry about your luck.
