I never smoked fulltime. Just smoked one or two in college when I was out partying. I'd always get that 'first time smoker high'.

One night I got extremely drunk and chained smoked like 3 in row. I got sooooo frigin sick. I never smoked after that!

Interesting poll. It's nice to see a higher percentage of non-smokers. Way to go TW!:)

    Thanks!

I realized I voted but didn't post anything... I don't smoke cigarrettes and never have, but I will light up a cigar now and again. I can't remember the last time I had one that wasn't after an Alabama win or at a wedding reception.

I actually smoked a lot years ago in high school and college years about a pack a day or a little more. Now I just smoke on the weekends or even if that so I just out that I smoked. I should really just quit. But I would say I smoke about 1/2 a pack a week or less.

Never had the urge.... both my folks smoked and had to deal with 2nd hand smoke for 18 years - :puke: then the 2nd hand smoke in the military.

One of the best things the military did was to ban smoking in buildings - there would be 10 guys smoking in a small room and me (and one other guy) standing in the hall trying not to breathe the smoke. Or getting into a 6 pack truck (when it's below zero out) and the other 5 are smoking.

Then you STINK like an ashtray.... nasty

I had a 2-pack-a-day habit until October of last year. Family members were/are dropping like flies....and it was finally time. I have no urges.......I am done with smoking.....I have (fortunately) not fallen off the wagon. Non-military.

I didn't vote cause I wasn't sure whether to put smoker or non.

    *EDIT* voted "don't smoke"

I smoked Marlboro Reds for about 25 years. Was up to about 3 packs a day when I quit. Been about 11 years since I had one.

Being young and subjected to anti-smoking ads since I was in kindergarten, I haven't smoked yet and hope that I never do.

    My brother doesn't smoke either....

My mom found some cigarettes in his room when he was a kid. She took him outside, made him smoke an entire pack of cigarettes one-after-the-other until he turned blue (with mom standing there the whole time).

He never touched cigarettes again after that!!!

Smoked for 12 years. Started 2 years before I joined the Coast Guard. Quit Memorial Day weekend 2007 and haven't touched a cig, stoogie or dip since that day.
