In the last couple days, the amount of spam SMS messages I've received have gone up a ton. I'm now getting 20 or 30 a day.

Every message looks very similar to this one. Most of the URLs are ".online" as opposed to ".com". Does anyone else receive these? Have you noticed a change?

i've just been getting political texts to click a questionable link to get my opinion. or texts for someone named "lameka", despite me having this number for the past 20 years.

my brother on the other hand keeps getting calls from really angry random people that say he called them. some bot is re-using his number to bother people.

thanks to my brother, i'm learning that they always spoof someone else's number. so constantly blocking numbers means eventually i'll end up blocking some number that i'll need!

Someone leaked your phone to a scam database probably and bunch of spammers using same database. So all msges are a bit different but using same patterns.

I had to get a phone that autodetects spam and moves it to the blocked folder. That weeds it down to maybe two per week that still gets through.

Yup. If it's not boner pills, it's weight loss supplements or an offer direct to my mom making an offer on my parents' house. I've also gotten a metric shit-ton of "wrong number" texts from people claiming to be women I met a few days earlier at a concert or the beach. I also get an obnoxious number of political surveys.

The SMS crap is so annoying. My IPhone blocks all numbers not in my contacts and sends them to voicemail but the SMS stuff kept coming. I finally subscribed to a text killer app that I can customize with words these idiot spammers use in their text. Now only get perhaps 1 per week. I can report it directly from my messages. Definitely saved me from getting aggravated.

I bet I could lose 60 pounds if I only ate one spoon a day too. I don't need to pay anyone to tell me that. :anonymous:

If I had a dollar for every time my Netflix account was suspended for "unusual" activity, I could retire today.

It would likely be much more concerning if I actually had a Netflix account.

I turned on Message Filtering (iPhone) and that helps a ton.

False. I've gotten 2 in the last 2 weeks on my iPhone.
