I had my ac unit checked out and the guy said it was a black snake under the house. and I went back to work after he left. I came home and I'm paranoid like a motha heffer. I haven't told my wife bc she would have the house on the market today. Will it try to get inside the house or will it find it's way back through the same hole it came in. Gonna fix that hole after he's been eliminated. I'm just worried with my little girl and going to sleep tonight. I've got two dogs inside that we keep inside while we sleep. I'm gonna call the animal control first thing in the morning or an exterminator. Not sure which has the craziest people working for them to get rid of snakes

It's probably just a rat snake, although scary they are pretty harmless

The guy said it was a black snake so I'm assuming it's kinda like a rat snake being here in nc. I just don't want him inside the house. If I wake up and see that, y'all mide as well call 911

Unless you have mice in the house, there is nothing in there they would be interested in. Black snakes/rat snakes have teeth very similar to a large mouth bass. They cannot hurt you and are more afraid of you than you are of them. Pick it up and let him bite you so you will no longer be afraid of them.

Black snakes are really good snakes lol, I would let him stay as long as he wants because he would keep and mice/rats away from the house. Btw there is no way that it can get into your house unless he climbs in a pipe or something, but again its highly unlikely

Black Snake? Probably doing you a favor being under there. Less of a rodent problem. Don't kill it, catch and release/ relocate.

Sounds like a harmless snake. They eat rats and mice, which are not harmless. I'd leave the snake alone. But then I like snakes.

Black snakes are harmless. I have tons on my property, I've always heard that they kill Copperheads.
However, I wouldnt want one in my house either

There is no way it could come through the a/c vents. Those are sealed. Unless you have a hole somewhere, which is unlikely, you'll be fine

If it's a black racer or a black rat snake they are non-venomous and they eat mice, rats, birds and other small reptiles.

You know... For a forum of chest thumping, truck beating, manly men I've never seen so many turn to girls at the sight or mention of snakes or spiders.

Don't listen to them. Burn it to the ground! Better safe than sorry...

In all seriousness though, it's highly improbable that the snake has any chance of getting in the house. Just be mindful of where you step and pay attention to moving stuff that's been on the ground. I wouldn't worry about calling anyone either unless I saw a few snakes.

Send a mongoose under the house to kill the snake. Then send a wolverine in to kill the mongoose. Next you need to get a mountain lion in to kill the wolverine. A bear should be able to kill the mountain lion and then you will just have a slight bear problem. It is so easy OP.....
