I am sure that you will get years of use out of those tools.

It still had the thin metal strips to remove the drawers but couldn't get them to work.

I haven't had my drawers out since I bought my used Snap-On box over 20 years ago but they do come out if you fiddle with it enough.

Got couple pics of mine . Pull drawer out till it stops, then push back in slightly so you can slide tool over stop on drawer slide .

Just thought about this, been many many moons ago lol .Once drawer stops push back in maybe couple inches and then push tool in with bend the other way so it will not stop on tab on drawer and hold tool there and slide drawer out. I actually did it the 1st way I mentioned but pic shows how lock works .

Should have updated that I did get the hang of removing drawers .
Emptied all the tools out and covered a 4x8 sheet of plywood , then a 2x7 closet door . Found the original maintenance and care brochure in it that says to use paraffin or candle wax on drawer guides .
Turns out it was in daily use for the first 15 years of its life . Still every drawer works as it should and paint is in excellent condition except for bottom edge of side cabinet that was already pointed out . My son is already eyeing it up for when I kick the bucket .

Yea good box. Had mine since the 80s. Typical me. Never read maintaince manual. Was lubing slides with WD40 lol as you can see how dirty it got .
Pigked up upper chest which was the newer model that came with roller bearing slides

I've inherited or purchased a few tool collections over the years. I would suggest that you take a hard look at each tool and decide how likely you are to use it. There's no sense clogging up your box with tools you'll never or rarely use. Just because it was there doesn't mean it needs to go back.

I've sold/donated tools I know I'll never use. Tools that I want to keep but will only rarely use are kept in a box on a shelf.

That's awesome that you got the tool box and all the tools in your possession . Even those coffee cups are in great condition !!

Just an FYI .... if you ever need a part replaced on the tool box such as a lock mechanism , drawer slide or lock . These boxes are warranted for life , all you need to do is contact your local Snap On tool salesman

So if those drawer slides are worn out get them replaced !!!!
