So next plan is to replace the Wheel studs for new ones as @nickj604 suggested! Will continue to update what products are bought for the project.

Glad you got the wheel off! It looks like someone tried to use a longer lug nut (1st gen tundra) on your truck (the new one you bought looks to be correct). It was definitely cross threaded, which broke it in two.

Pep boys in Houston broke a wheel stud on my Subaru doing a tire rotation and did not notify me.
I found it after receiving the car, and told them to fix it now while I call the police to report them for not reporting it and endangering a customer.
Took them calling in an expert contractor and 4 hours to fix it. They basically took the entire brake assembly and hub apart put in a new stud.
Manager apologized, and refunded entire service bill for everything I ordered including parts.
    Peg-Boys...stay away....

op when you do wheel studs you are suppose to replace the broken one (duh) and each stud on the left and right side of the broken one so you need to replace a total of 3 wheel studs

did this happen to be one of the rear wheels ? because the e brake drum is built into the rear disc and can be a little bit of a bitch regardless i dont see that taking 4 hrs unless the dumb ass removed the disc and stepped on the brake causing springs to fly everywhere

Yes it was a rear. You're correct. Yeah they started on it. Got stuck. Called a guy who showed up and yelled a bit. Shewed the novice crew away and started on it himself. He took about 1:30 to finish where they left off. I think he was a supervisor mechanic from another location and was more pissed that they tried to send me on the road with a missing stud and lug nut.

Roger that, but since I'm down there I plan on getting some extended wheel studs while in the process of buying my parts for the spindle lift. Safe bet?

I doubt that it was cross threaded, it's just the lugnuts do that after repeated uses.
I have had three do that to me in the last couple years.
Clean up the threads with a wire brush and screw the new nut on by hand and see how far it goes on.

As far as extended studs go, do that and your going to have to get different nuts so they will seat on the rim with the studs sticking out.

This just happens to me today. Wasn’t cross threaded that I can tell put them all on snug by hand then it snapped when I went to tighten it. Tomorrow I’ll know more and hope I don’t have to replace the stud.

Is it just me, or is that a crack in the wheel?

Usually that happens because someone, at some time, over tightened (over torqued) the lug nuts. The stretches and stresses the metal. If it was mine? If one is bad then all are suspect and should be replaced.

Everything about that strikes me as a defect. If you have time, take it to the dealer. At the very least, you’ll know what their estimate is. Good luck. Sucks that happened to you. Did you bust a knuckle or anything when it let go?
