What tool did you used to press the hose in and the process?

It's just like any typical AN/JIC fitting going onto a braiding hose where you slip the outer shell over the hose and then thread the inner part in. These are not crimp type fittings (although I do have a specialty tool for that when I do the AC lines).

If you're unfamiliar with these braided hoses and fittings, let me know. I'd be happy to post up some how-to pictures of the process as I have several feet of line and fittings laying around. You'll commonly see braided lines on hotrods or race cars.

that would totally make my day. No rush though as I see you're still busy with this swap. Engine bay is cleaned up and the 2jz looks like it came from factory. what radiator you plan to use?

My best words of advice for this is use the same fitting brand as the same hose brand. I've always had the hardest time getting other fittings to work with a different brand of hose. Especially on the aluminum stuff. I don't know why, but I just do though.

The hardest part about all this is getting the outer shell to fit around the hose. Once you get that on, tightening it together will be easy.

Unlike how I cut this (again, it was just laying around) another little thing that makes this a lot easier is getting a clean cut on the hose and not fraying all the steel wires surrounding it.

You want to be sure to bottom out the hose in the outer shell to where it begins to taper. I didn't tighten the assembly together because my wires were to frayed and didn't feel like trying to get the two to fit together. But be aware of the hose being pushed out of the shell when you're tightening it. You can always put a little mark on the hose to see if it's backing out while you're tightening the fitting.

Alright guys I've been doing some serious thinking.

I've been wanting to build a plate bumper for a long time. I think now couldn't be a better time given that I'm officially mounting the AC condenser and it is binding on the inner top lip of the OEM bumper. The bumper I build will give a bit of clearance for this as well as making my own skid plate setup because my old radiator bracket was made using the three holes for mounting the old skid plate.

The radiator itself is coming up now due to interference with the power steering pump being higher. I'm going to angle the radiator top port at a 45 degree angle which will match up perfectly with the water output from the motor. I'll post photos later on of what the situation is. Nothing major, just minor adjustments.

    Looking forward to these improvements.

Time for beer. Probably doing a little bit of beer tasting with my girl in Covina. So if anyone is in the area, let me know! There are some cool local Breweries.

Just snagged this oldie but goodie off of ebay right now. Victor 315. I have a ton of oxygen/acetylene tanks all full and regulators in the shop left from my grandfather, but no torches. So sick and tired of cutting things with the Sawzall and death wheel. What a relief this will be for the bumper.

Really happy with how this thing is coming along. Driver side (hardest part of all this with all the wires and hoses) engine bay is pretty much done. Just need to work on passenger side and radiator bracket.

Really don't want to do this, but thinking maybe a battery relocation to somewhere in the truck bed area whether under or above in a "sealed" box with a breather on it placed higher up. Most likely going with an Optima Red in a larger size. I don't like this idea or know of a better spot to put it, but this will allow me to encapsulate the fuse box in something and put it in the engine bay. See photo of it sitting there. It'll be too close to the exhaust for comfort with the battery there.

Fitting the first fuse box on the driver side was no problem. It tucked nicely above the foot area. On the other hand, there is absolutely no easily accessible room on the passenger side for a fuse box due to the air conditioning fan. Unfortunately I absolutely need both of these fuse boxes.

Battery relocation isn’t that bad and the engine space is a huge plus just go over kill on the cable you use

So I've thought about what I want to do on the passenger side and am settling on the layout you see pictured (of course the wiring will be cleaned up though).

For the fuse box I would really like to buy a nice little pre-made black plastic box. I'll throw up a picture of what's in mind. It needs to be about 7 or 8" long, 5" wide, and 5 or 6" deep. Need to figure out some exact measurements still. But to be completely honest, I don't really know where to find something that size that isn't square. Need something rectangular and of those approximate dimensions.

If I have no luck, will then most likely make something here out of acrylic and glue it together.

Hopefully sooner than later. Really excited about how this has all been turning out so far.

Oh by the way, battery relocation. I've been overthinking it. Strapping it to the roof with duct tape sounds like an easy solution. Might have parking structure clearance issues unfortunately.

Also what's stopping you from gutting a used Toyota or Lexus fuse box housing and putting the Lexus one in there?

Yeah, looks like he'll have to go with 'push' fans instead of pull.

My regular cab now has buckets. Made it feel like there is a lot more room in there now.

Interior picture of the 2jz Tacoma at the moment, which you guys haven't seen much of. It's a little scary looking.

Kinda jealous of the huge bench TBH. Very familiar with the dash spaghetti though, don't wanna do that again soon haha.
