I called the place in Azusa, "we don't have time for your problem." Called place in Pomona and was literally told "we don't have to time for that." WHAT!!!!!!! Called this place. Called (805) 983-1366 and spoke with Jay. VERY kind, listened to my whole sentence and told me that they used to do that but do not have the machine to do that anymore unfortunately. Jay, whomever you are THANK YOU for at least listening to me and being very kind.

Anyhow, I don't see what the huge issue is. Here is what I have going on down under. I'll post a picture of the guibo I have (rubber donut thing), a picture of a Lexus with the driveshaft attached (which I have a short cut off piece of that bolts up to the guibo, and a picture of what my transmission looks like with no guibo or shaft attached. You can also see what the Tacoma's driveshaft looks like with that 4 bolt U-Joint at the end where it would have mounted up to the old A340 transmission. Lexus and Guibo pic physically aren't mine btw. Just snagged them of the internet.

Need to make mine (or any U-Joint end) fit onto the end of the current transmission... Still searching for someone capable or "has the time" to do it. I mean, I cannot throw enough money at someone to do that? Come on.

Found these pictures online... Buuut thinking possibly something like this. Don't see why it is too hard to make. Maybe I need to find a specialty machine shop for this and another shop for the drive shaft.

Are you 100% sure that the output shaft is different and the Tacoma flange won't go on it it's place? It's a long shot, but worth a look?

Sorry for not updating yet. On Thursday I had dislocated my finger at work and cannot really move it much.

So far I had taken the output shaft flange (whatever you want to call it) off the stock a340 transmission. Looks like it'll fit on the new 650 transmission when I held it up but I am not sure the spline count is the same and even if the output shaft is the exact same diameter. Regardless if it does fit it looks as if I'll have to cut the end of the output shaft off because it is significantly longer than the flange itself which can be seen in an above photo. On the other hand, the mounting portion of the flange looks to be the same depth. I'll let you guys know as I find out more. Need to get a deep socket. My 1-3/16" (I think) is too shallow to reach beyond the a650 output shaft and to the big nut holding the flange on...

Another option is to swap the entire output shafts themselves. Don't know what this involves and at that point would probably rather go with an adapter instead of messing around with swapping those. I want to do this right, but I also want to have this thing finished already. Only trying this because @COMAtized99 has me second guessing myself now!

UPDATE! Kind of... huge thanks to @COMAtized99. If it wasn't for you, I would have never tried swapping the flange. I thought there would be no way. I ended up grinding off part of the huge nub off of the output shaft itself, but it fits. Thanks so much for pushing me to do that. Also, thank you @3rYODA for being my backup plan if that didn't work. Fortunately it did, but thank you for your help.

Sorry for lagging on the updates. Driveshaft is back and beautiful. New carrier bearing and also U-joints on it as the old ones were worn well beyond spec. There are a few other things I am working up on tidying up, but I have driven the truck up and down the street and it runs nicely! Haven't hit the throttle hard yet, but it is certainly peppy. Hoping to have this thing completely done by Monday.

    Edit: Pict.

So I have an issue... @3rYODA the check engine light is on.

Not only that, but at mid to high RPM's it almost sounds as if there is some sort of rev limiter or high rpm limp mode going on here. Not too sure what it is. Accelerates fine at first while rolling or not but as the rpm's go up it cuts out. It almost sounds like the electronic throttle control is opening and shutting real fast. Not sure why. Looking into this but a bit stumped right now.

I'd tell you the RPM it is doing it at, but despite the tach being wired up I have no movement on the tach. Will have to check to see if I am actually getting signal from the wire. Should be correct though... :frusty:

The (I guess it would be...) diagnostic port in the engine bay is accessible but have not wired up the obd2 port yet. Working on figuring that out because Japan doesn't use the same systems we do. If I had a US domesticated ecu (which is the goal later on) I'd be able to do it easily, but let me get back to you on that. Regardless, I'll pm my number to you.

Anyhow, update for all- will shoot up some picts of engine brackets and transmission bracket pater today as I am painting them finally. Also, I know @COMAtized99 is awaiting condenser bracket pictures!

My 2c would be check the codes, however you are using the JDM ecu? Don't you live in California? How will you get it inspected? Also
. How on earth can you diagnos the system?
