If I can get any opinions on the matter before they close soon, that would be super.

The truck is there, the parts they want to put in will be there tomorrow morning.

Do I go with those parts and have them do it?

Take it elsewhere and wait for the URD clutch?

Keep it there and wait for the URD clutch?

It may be cheaper at an independent shop... That would be your call. Who do you trust and how much do you desire to pay and don't forget the towing cost, finding a shop that you trust and what kind of warranty do you get.

    Lots to think about.

I would start by asking how do you know the replacement won't wear out? If you stay with yota, you can possibly go back and get it all back if you have another issue soon.

I asked if they'd be willing to work with me on this, kind of a good will thing. They basically said no.

This morning I called Toyota corporate and opened a warranty coverage request claim. It's clear they won't cover this with the warranty, but is there any chance they would do something? Anything?

The rep told me he would follow up with me first thing on saturday. Should I wait to do anything before that happens? Does it not really matter in the long run?

If Toyota covers this I think I would faint. Esp if the dealer refused any type of good will.

With the truck up on a lift and not sitting on jackstands - you'd be paying me that $100 in under an hour, every time. Last second gen 4x4 2TR clutch I did on jackstands only took 3 hours total.

That job only pays 3 hours under warranty, 4 hours CP (customer pay).

I'll most likely have the dealer do the repair. It's already there, and after I paid to have towed to another shop, I doubt i'd realize much in terms of savings.

I do have the luxury of time, so do I order a URD Stage 2, or go with OEM? Can anyone chime in on any benefits/drawbacks to either option? If I go Stage II, is there anything not included in the kit that I would require?

Another shop is not going to be happy if you have it towed in with all the parts in the bed.

"It's all taken apart. 1/2 the work is done. How much to put it back together?"

    "ARGH!"

I'm right there with ya, man. At this point I'm just wondering what I should do in terms of parts.
